At the age of five months old, on Christmas Day 2020, our daughter was diagnosed with Stage 3 Neuroblastoma.
Her journey through cancer was documented on Facebook known as 'Charley's Angels.' She was followed by hundreds of thousands of people across the globe who continue to show their unwavering support and love.
Charley bravely fought cancer for over 8 months, spending each day with a smile on her face, and a maraca in her hand. On September 6, 2021 our lives had forever changed when she traded in her cape for Angel Wings.
Charley's Rainbow is dedicated to creating awareness and treatment of childhood cancer through the memory of our Angel, Charley, who never ceased to be awed and inspired by Rainbows and who never ceases to awe and inspire those around her.
Charley's Rainbow raises funds for research and to help childhood cancer patients and their families through the darkest of times and with special emphasis on children and families in Kentuckiana and Central Kentucky.
In her 13 months of living this side of Heaven-she brought many people to the throne of God, she renewed faith, she brought people to their knees in prayer, she saved souls simply by being here...and she never spoke a single word.
It's easier to look away because the reality is hard to face.
But turning away doesn't help these children - and they need us.
They need the world to stand in their corner and fight for them. So stop looking away. Stand up. Live like Charley.
The road ahead is long, but every step is worth the fight.
